Ali & Ken’s Wedding at The Homestead and Homestead Preserve, Part I
Posted by hollandphotoarts under WeddingsLeave a Comment
Two incredible, beautiful weddings in a week on blog?!? Yup, that’s just how we roll here at Holland Photo Arts. We post ‘em just as soon we can, so it just so happens, this week, you get two for the price of one!
We especially love when we get to photograph the weddings of those near and dear to our current and former clients! We documented Tessie & Matt’s celebration at Clifton Inn over two years ago and were thrilled to hear Tessie’s maid of honor, Ali, was recently engaged and wanted us to document it all for them. Once again, we had too many favorites, so here are a few from the first part of their day. Here is part two, full of some amazingly beautiful light during their portraits and dancing inside a dairy barn. Yup, it’s that cool. Happy, happy Friday!!
Oh, and if you’d like to see the entire wedding gallery, just click through here and enter Ali’s maiden name as the password (it’s case-sensitive). Enjoy!
Clearly the winner for this week’s cutest baby.
Ali was glowing inside and out.
First sight!
Think she was trying to “plant” her bouquet!
Tessie, followed by Matt, waiting for the start of the ceremony. Love you guys!!
Ali’s equally beautiful sister!
Bill totally digs the elegance and light captured in this detail shot that Anne shot.
Love this one of Ali’s dad watching his daughter before the ceremony.
It was wonderful seeing their grandparents there, especially since Ali had very recently lost her maternal grandfather.
Almost showtime!
We were so lucky to have this gorgeous light falling on Ali and her dad as they processed with The Homestead’s tower in the background.
Another wonderful shot by Anne…Bill loves the incongruence of the background BBQ picnic scene of a Summer Saturday at the resort.
Holy cow is it not all about the light? Lovin’ it. And the ceremony was pretty sweet, too!
She thought so, too.
Married!
Love, love, love the tan suits on the guys. Perfect outdoor Summer wedding attire. Ken was looking sharp!
PS – If you’re planning a July or August wedding, we can highly recommend The Homestead where it’s usually 10 degrees cooler! Your guests (and your photographers) will thank you! ;-D
Dear a&k,
We were absolutely thrilled when Tessie wrote to tell us you were engaged and check on our availability! It was so much fun being a part of your celebration since we had already gotten to know you, Ali, and to meet Ken, well, that was just icing on the cake. Double-chocolate with extra peanut butter crunch cake, that is (more on this later)! It truly means so much to us that you chose us to document your wedding day and all the wonderful, subtle moments throughout it – especially those with your families. And to have such incredible light as we did for your ceremony and portraits at the Preserve, we were just beside ourselves and since that day couldn’t wait to share these images with you.
It’s not every day we get to photograph a reception adjacent to a pool and with dancing inside an old dairy barn, so this was an extra special treat. We loved how Tessie and Matt helped personalize your wedding through the gift of hand-made metal leaves dangling in place by a ribbon at each of your guests’ seats. And yours was the first wedding we’ve seen where a good-natured toast offered up the Vulcan salute as part of it in a nod to some of Ken’s childhood activities. We get to see a lot of family interaction on wedding days, yet what you showed with yours was incredibly special. We felt so blessed to be there to document it for you all. Thank you, truly from the bottom of our hearts and congratulations on becoming Mr. & Mrs.!
xoxo…
