As 2009 draws to a close, we would like simply to publicly thank all of you–our clients, friends, and of course family–for being a part of our lives this past year. For about 25 weekends a year we have an opportunity to spend a day with so many of you and your families, documenting your traditions and your joys, and preserving a piece of your family history. We’re so grateful to be lucky enough to do what it is we are passionate about, and your love and encouragement has been instrumental in our fulfillment. So thank you. And this holiday season, irrespective of which holiday you might observe (or multiple, or lack there-of, hey, it’s a free country, right?), we trust that you are in good hands and warm hearts with those closest to you. We look forward to a grand and fulfilling 2010 and look forward to including each and every one of you.

Holiday Party with Easton Events
Posted by hollandphotoarts under Editorial, VendorsLeave a Comment
’tis the season for holiday parties, and we were thrilled to do a shoot for the ever-talented folks at Easton Events at the recently renovated Jefferson Theater here in Charlottesville. A local firm had its company holiday party there, and we couldn’t have thought of a better place for it. Everyone clearly had a great time and we were glad to be able to take some detail shots of the transformed space below.

As many of you were, we stayed home yesterday, all bundled up sitting in front of the fireplace, with the occasional trip outside to see what Mother Nature had done with the yard. Here are a few frames from the scenes. Enjoy!
The view from Anne’s office that would make Martha Stewart proud.
First steps out the back door.
The geese, having no where else to go, swim on the lake during the biggest storm in a century.
After the lake begins to freeze over, a lone goose contemplates flight.
Snow accumulating on the screened-in porch.

Good morning everyone! If you’re in Virginia or the DC area this morning, you’re probably hanging out playing games or perhaps watching the local news pontificate about hazardous area travel from this storm-of-the-century. We had, of course, a drawing to do, and used a random.org to randomly choose our two Ace of Cakes book winners this morning. They are: Megan (#24) and Tamara (#2). Ladies, check your email in a few minutes and let us know of your mailing address. Given the two feet of snow we’re currently getting, needless to say nothing is being shipped out today, but we’ll get your books out in the mail on Monday. Enjoy!
