Congratulations to Emily and Stanton, who married one year ago today here in Charlottesville at the historic and quaint All Saints Anglican Church followed by their reception at the picturesque King Family Vineyards. We recently asked the happy couple, now residing in the South, about their favorite moments and photos from the day. This is what they had to tell us.
Emily’s Favorite:

“I love this picture of my dad. My dad’s band, Lockjaw played at our Rehearsal Dinner the night before and it was so appropriate that he would play guitar and watch college football to calm his nerves as I was upstairs getting ready. He calmed my nerves later when just as we were beginning to walk down the aisle and I could feel my heart tighten, he told me, ‘Now, don’t get ‘lock-jawed’ up there.’ At such a big moment, it was just what I needed to hear to make me laugh and relax.” (Emily’s dad is, fittingly, a dentist.)
Our Together Favorite:

“I still feel the excitement when I look at this picture. We were so elated and happy after just getting married. There is no better feeling!”
Stanton’s Favorite:

“Stanton and I are not Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers (to say the very least) and neither of us like to be the center of attention. I was a bit nervous leading up to the ‘First Dance’ but when the moment finally arrived, we forgot that anyone else was in the room and all awareness flew out the window. I love that this picture captures that.
“Thanks again! We had a lot of fun looking back on all of the photos. There are so many great ones!”
Perhaps not coincidentally, all three images were featured in their album. Congratulations, you two! Thank you for sharing your celebration with us!
